I bought the big frabill about two weeks ago. I haven't used it yet, but I carry a smaller version for stocked trout. I like it

Here is a picture of the net I use for steelies. It's made by Brodin. Steelhead model $72.
You might want to consider a rubber net. http://www.brodin.com/

    Nice one, Greg.
I don't like carrying a net but there are times one I could have used one.
I wonder if they make a large colapsable net that would fold away and fit in your vest.
Strong enough for a 30# chinook.

Here is a photo of the steelhead net that I use.  It is not too large that it can't be easily waorn on your back or carried, if need be, but is large enough for any steel one might encounter.

The cool thing about it is that it has a scale in the handle.  Unfortunately, it also has a bad habit of turning 10 pound fish into six pound ones.

I friend of mine bought it for me as a gift a few years back, so I have no idea where anybody could find one.  It is made in New Zealand by McLean, if that helps.

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.

Nets are for girls, unless maybe for fishin' crowded areas.

I don't use one, Just try to get them into shallow H2O and remove the hook. But I do use one for salmon. It would work for steel as well. Buy one where the handle slides back into the hoop. Drill a hole through both walls of the tube on each end of the handle shaft. Thread a rope through the hole and tie off. This way you can wear it over your back, its out of the way, still easy to open and you still have the length needed to land a fish easily.
