weekday vs weekend?

well i'm in a situation, i can go up for steelhead for two days during the week or go up for a weekend if its a weekend it will be later in the month, and i might be able to get more days in. i just dont like to be crowded. i have been up there on a weekend before, and it was great, just wondering what the weekdays are like?

go when you can, cause you'll have plenty company no matter what day.
I personally avoid all the "popular" spots the second and third day of a blowout rain  when the creeks are prime condition
cause everyone and their  cousin thinks mass waves of fish come with rain events ....I'm not so sure of that

What I AM sure of though.... is  rain events  create  mass waves of ANGLERS...fo-sho

Make sure you PM fishon4me 24 hours in advance if youre launching out of walnut, so he can make sure he doesn't have a line in the channel.

don't think you can  catch the clap from toilet seats....
Think you gotta dip in the well for a chance  to pee fire or catch those pesky simplex 2 cold sores .....

bEd bUgz might be another madder though...

sorry, i can't help with a "bedbUg free" lodging report

Since it's been brought up....bedbugs are a super serious issue. They are VERY COSTLY to get rid of. Alot of times it includes disposal of your furniture. It's been a serious problem in Erie this year.

There is ZERO chance I would stay in a cheap motel....If you do...keep your gear in plastic bags wash all your clothes and bedding in hot water and dry on high heat the minute you get home

Actually, the bedbugs are up to Rt.5. The Sasquatch around here are infested with them. Even the rattlesnakes are itching. It's probably best to stay home.

They are up to Route 5 also. But they do not have bedbugs.

Seriously though, they seem to have more than usual: This was in Fly Fisher Mag: http://www.flyfisherman.com/2011/09/19/steelhead-alley-fall-forecast/

You have to scroll down a bit to get to the lamprey info.

There are lots good reasons offered in that article for the lower returns over the last two years, but none of them has anything to do with C&R.  Just Sayin!

It really doesn't matter, anymore. Years ago I would have whole creeks to myself on a Wednesday. Nowadays, with so many retired folks, and folks out of work, even deer hunting season weekdays are crowded.

If you go up during the weekday expect shoulder to shoulder fishing. If you go up on the weekend expect shoulder to shoulder fishing along with someone standing on your toes and someone else in your back pocket.
