So Ive been feeshing for dem steelies for about 6 years now, but never on the lake. Today was a first for a couple things though. First time fishing at Trout Run AND I became a member of the Powerbait club. Yep, caught my first Steelie on goop-thanks to some advice from a couple distinguished members of this board. Fishrmn and Loomis, thanks for letting me into this exclusive, highbrow, elitist club. Grabbing used, dirty powerbait from the sand and water and catching fish with it is something ill never forget!
And Tim, straighten that hat bro. ;)

Pink swirl with glitter.

mine was orange with brown flecks, the brown being rocks, dirt and sand. Dem Steelies didn't care.

Is there a difference using one powerbait color over another?- sometimes
Do baitshops recommend the color of the day to sell more or reduce inventory of slow sellers 

Color matters a ton. Last year 2 guys next to us were killing it on bright pink and we couldn't get a bite on 5 differen't colors. That is ubtil
My brother ran to the store and got some. Unfortunatelly the bite died in the next hour when the temps went up.

is it ok to use powerbait, behind the eye of the hook, when tying an egg sucking leech?
is there a special hook design for this purpose?
 
if so i'll tie up some. don't care to get any back.

Turbo Nuggets are the HOT new thang yo!!

I prefer the green nuggets, myself with a tint of orange and or purple or blue depending on the season.

i used blue yesterday and caught so many i ran out.all i had in my pockets for bait was m&m,s.i fished a blue one out of the bag and caught a 9 pounder.you guys are the greatest turning me onto this blue stuff...thanks to all.

sunday i had steelhead pecking at my blue shoe strings on my wading shoes while i was standing in the riffles.
