Wow - Kings galore in the upper river (Pin. to Altmar) - moving up daily.
As of Thursday and today, off the driftboat, we saw 100"s, and more :) of Kings working up thru the trestle and below to the island hole. Filling in all the normal spots. Few here, 100's there :) - The entire river is with all strains of fish, that call this place home. - You'll find a few to hundreds, holding, working up river, etc.... - Great time to be fishing. - Great time for the local economy and I'm greatful for all of you visiting and having fun! - The local economy thanks you! - The entire river is with fish presently, have fun, DONT SNAG! - (F'n idiots!) Have fun :) - Myself and clients all fish for Salmon exactly as I do for Steelhead. (100% drifts,NO CHILDISH, un-sportsmanlike, stupid yanking, get a F-n clue! When they are not playing Private Rent-a-Cop for DSR - to chase fishermen from around the DSR owned island in the estuary.... Hilarious how they can "free up" resources to protect a private enterprise making $ off publicly financed fish...Barclay must send them Xmas cards....

I've seen guides on the Salmon River, year after year, at the Sportman Hole, line their clients up in a line. They then begin whipping their lines through the water as fast as they can. It's like watching fish run a guantlet. Further, I've seen guides herding salmon in the early mourning hour at Trout Brook to the various deep holes/pockets, where their clients can snag the "h" out of them. It's nothing worst then sitting at a location early in the morning, waiting for the legal time for fishing, and having a bunch of ignorant guides, and other fishermen, shine a light on bedded fish, or wade in the water to herd them to a hole. I've had that happen to me for the past [2] years. I enjoy fly fishing as, you can see the salmon bite the hook. I always use a small green plastic egg.

Retired,
The one thing that bother's me the most amoungst us guides.
Is at this time of the year, when WE are fishing a complete drift, no YANKING!
And I see many guides who are guideing and fishing w/ guest's, who are YANKing on fish, so they can hand off the rod.
I've never done it and never well for obviuos reasons.
Man up! Stop your stupid stuff, and teach the correct way to fish for all species on this river, you dumb****s!
