Fishing line

First of all I am new to this sight. I am a avid bass and pike fisherman. I am looking for some ideas on fishing line for salmon. I have tried several types of lines but haven't found any that I really liked. Any input would be helpful. Thanks

    for mono I use 14lb gold stren w/ a 10# floro leader.

Steel on a pin---so easy a caveman can do it.

The gold is great for following your drift but it always seems to want to jump off the spool (memory?) on me.
I haven't tried the newer lines myself.
I like trilene XL 10 or twelve depending on if I'm bottom bouncing or bobber fishing with an floro leader at least 2 lb lighter.

For Salmon I would recommend Trilene XT CLEAR (not green, cant see the stuff) , 12#.. Great line and 12 will flow nicely off the spool & through the guides..

Steelhead.. I run Trilene XT 10 # CLEAR or SOLAR if you can find it. The 2 lb drop diameter will be huge in the winter through the guides ..

No offence Slayer but I have had all bad experience with Stren..

None taken--just sayin what has worked for me for many year--be it 4# on an ultra light back home or 14# main here--like the vis on the stuff----Cortland Camo is a nice line I sometimes use(and it's cheap).

Slayer, the high Vis line is GREAT.. I loved the solar when it was made.. Tried the RED but it sucks, I still can't see it.. Clear is way better then green.. I'm a tried -n- true XT (NOT XL)user.. It is very tough..
Still not sold on fluro leader-tippet.. I think frog hair mono tippet is tops.

Wish I could use the stren yellow but it has burned me too many times ..
