what is going on in dsr?

Reports all day about alot of fish, my god here they come, they just keep coming. Other people are reporting they fished there and didn't see the run dsr was barking about. I like fishing anytime I can but the wear and tear on vehicles plus gas getting there is getting expensive. I live near Albany so the trip isn't bad but I don't want to blow money on false reports. So far at least up to noonish, back hole area hasn't seen anything. Anybody there now give an honest report? Thank you

Stress is just one hookset away from being gone.

    Well all the regular posters are there this weekend I'm sure they will give a report when they return. I was up Wednesday and things weren't very good not many fish and very low water. This is how it is every year the reports get us all up there early and I have personally never had too much luck before say the 25th or so but I stay up river for the most part. I'm from Sartoga area and feel your pain with gas and all that but I'd give it some time.

    I fished the lower DSR this morning... it was very productive.... there are steelies in,and a few large ones too. A lot of salmon were running out of the estuary and up... I live nearby and so the presure/urgency/get the most out being there "head game"... does not exist, my two buds up from Jersey were still fishing at 6:00pm, they started with me at around 0630... ( they had a great day and can't wait to come back up) Their two buds went up higher and hit 1 or 2 each... So the reports that say we hit it big and then others say we saw nothing can be based soley on location...
    Most anglers that have been around, will post honest reports about fish and what was used, but will be mildly vague about location
    I left the river around 1100...
    Got the boat out of the water and back on the trailer...

    Thanks for the honest report. Did some more online digging and found more of the same as your saying. I think with the base flow and sunlight these fish are pushing a little slower. Once the hit the cannonball section they'll pick up speed. Its like bowhunting and gun hunting, arrows don't spook deer as bad as lead flying over their heads. I'll make a suicide run tomorrow because the wife wants too, if it turned out good and I didn't listen to her. . . .well you know the rest.

    A HUGE RUN of fish came in today,got that from those that were there.However,I did n't get to Salmon Country till noon so tried the zones,there are some fish in there but not hitting,very slow.

    No bogus posts from the dsr today, must be that huge run from yesterday is over. Im sure about wednesday, or thursday another huge run will be staged, huge enough to fill their parking lots for the weekend! Suckers!

    Always seems that way thats why I think I have never fished there. Never thought it was right to charge that much to fish there seeing fishing licenses keep going up in price. Many miles of beautiful waters that you don't need to pay for. headed up next weekend looks like rain Wednesday and Thursday hopefully get em moving.

    Guys; thousands of coho came in yesterday through the day... hitting town pool today; they are moving slow... the dsr reports were not bogus...
