Went up today

There were quite a few fish in the Sportsman hole.  Saw what looked like a Big brown taken too, but since it was hooked in the wrong end they were pretty fast getting it off the hook and into the cooler. Had one hit but he did not stay on too long.   From what I saw and the few  I talked to said not alot of action for the fisherman, but the flossers were doing  OK

Yea, the 3 guys up from me ripping each had 10 hook ups and 4 between them and landed 4 fish.   The best part was that by 2:00   there was only me and one other guy that was swinging flies in the whole sportsman pool for about 2 hours.   The fish calmed a little and I had  4 hits in those 2 hours, but only one was what I call a true hook up (played the fish for over 10 seconds),  had it on for a couple of minutes. 

Will be in NYC next weekend.   I try to stay away during peak season as I do not like crowds that much, so I go at the start and the end of the season.  As far as being a swinger,  I had to give that up a few years ago  :0)    I have a really bad wrist and cannot handle a fly rod anymore for any length of time, and honestly I was not much good at it with 2 good wrists.  I fish spinning gear.  I have started to use beads more and been trying to perfect using some limited flies on a leader on my spinning rod, but after a while I still have to fish right handed  (I am left).   It works OK, but is not the same as a fly rod. 

Hey clint; what brings you down to NYC... I live 20 minutes from it; and I can't stand it...

Fishing is real bad...don't waste you time, save it for Oct. if you can..warm and NNOO fish around
