Thinking blowout!

Im thinking 1200 by morning, was gonna take tomorrow off but unless im in the boat 1200 is tough fishing on foot. Big fresh fish tend to turn and blank ya, will see what happens though.

    Really ?
You think 1,200 or even 1,500 is a blow out ?
Just remember it's a dam controlled river.. They are releasing 750 from the dam right now, add another 200>300 max run off.. That puts things about perfect for me, even in the lower end.. The only stickler is the inflowing tribs of the SR if your close to them, they can muddy up and become blowout but IMO the SR can handle a lot.. Go above the incoming tribs and it still 750 plus very little run off.. Plenty of fishing to be had ..

Now getting 2,000 + release , that’s some tough , pick your spots fishing there..

I will say this.. What ever your weather is at home don't mean that’s how it is from the Tug hill.. I fished the SR when Hurricanes plastered the eastern NY area only to find perfect fishing in Pulaski..

I'm pretty positive I'll be fishing tomorrow on the SR

Im only an hour away and its been pouring both places all day steady with heavier expected tonight. I love a good 750 but once it hits 1000+ I like the boat.

Why do you think they will spike the release?
I've heard the res is was 7 ft low so they don't need to dump water.
I think that this being the year with the lower (total lake not SR) stocking numbers because of the past low water year after the holiday crowds left they tried to pull as many as they could upriver.

I was fishing two bb shot today.
The water did have a trace of color today and that's always a good thing.

Hey wader - whats a bb shot- I tend to use two #24 s up bout 2 and a half feet. and spread a few inches apart. Two 20s in higher or faster water and all the way up to 3 in big stuff.

Boy I missed that one, thought for sure 1200+. Hey wader, if the res is 7 feet low why would they bump it to 750? Seems to me they would let it fill than if necessary release. Well today was my only day till sunday if I can get the neighbors 18square tear off and put down of her roof done for her by then, alone.

    No comprehendo your lingo either.
I'm talking old school water gremlin lead.
Mine were roughly 18 and 21 inches from my fly.

       Wader
The numbers I use are the number of weights found on the small bags they sell at the tackle shops.
24- 24 little weights//20- 20  little weights. They are all bout a copper BB size especially the 24s.
Always thought the weight had to be 24 inches up to be legal on the SR so I keep em a bit higher cause they slip sometimes.
Know that gives the fly more room for swinging and I may miss a light strike now and again.
