BANJO MINOW

So what is people thoughts on how this lures works? I did buy this from watching it on TV it's call the 006 the new and improved from the original. I did have the original and was not all that bad of a kit. A lot of small and large mouth bass was caught from that kit. I bought to help improve my chance of catching Muskie as a lot of you know of my other post of Night fishing Muskie pyma.

I've had luck with them. I've fished them weedless for bass and did ok. I have the original ones. I didn't like the hooks that came with them, they were to flimsy and bent very easily. I replaced them with new ones.

Yeah I do agree they do work. I wanted to see how many people have used them. The hooks that come with the kit do need an up grade

I think that they are like all others, sometimes they work sometimes they don't.This subject seems to come along every few months, must be good advertisement. If they work as good as the makers claim they do, I would think that that would be the only lures the pros would use. Does anyone know if any pro tournys were won by them? sam

I agree, but if the pros don't catch fish, they won't be pros long.I seldom see banjos mentioned when they tell you what the pros used to win with. I think that most of those infomercials are filmed in places that you could catch fish on a bare hook.
Take a look around next time you go fishing & see how many people are using them & then ask yourself why they aren't. sam

Ive seen them in use and have been impressed. I fished with a guy who would rip and jerk them through the water, looked like you could kill bass with them on the right waters.

Bings, there is a good feature in BassMaster Mags. that sends a writer on the water with a pro & gives a minute by minute account on what, where & when they use & how they do. I think that it is a excellent teaching tool. Seldom do they use the same lures, but do as we do when fishing, keep changeing what you are doing till you find what works. Speaking of hot lures & tecniques go to youtube & type in "how to use "trout magnets" very informative , but if you look closely at one stream side, you can see posters that prob.indicates private stocked water. I fish with a couple of guys that use them as much as I use mini-foos,sometimes they out fish me sometimes I outfish them. the trick is to keep trying. sam

bass fishing is no different than other sports

fishermen are sponsored,  kvd for example, main sponsor is strike king. do you think he will be throwing another crankbait? possibly if its in his contract that he can im sure he does sometimes.  its the same as a guy in nascar that races for chevy...they dont drive fords when they feel like it

the banjo minnow is just a "tv lure" nothing really special or revolutionary

One of my fishing partners bought a kit for himself and one for me 3 years ago . I thought about getting it in the past , but never did . I'm very happy he got it for me as I have done well with it on Pyme which is my favorite body of water to fish considering fishing success and proximity to home . I love the action one can generate from the Banjo minnows . They are like many lures in that one has to have faith they will work . Otherwise , how much of a chance will one allow a lure , how hard will someone fish a lure if there isn't faith ? Believing in a lure has much to with its' success . I do use different hooks than the ones supplied though , my prefernce .

Any soft jerk bait has its purpose and time frame free rigged ,drop shot ect.. If u use a bait long enough and feel confident, you will catch fish. You can make any bait a go to rig when others don't.

Trout magnets for sure can be a sure fire for bass, panfish and all your trout species. Last year I fished next to this old guy at Buffalo and caught 6 or 7 and he was fly flishing and threw one on and jerked her like a streamer and caught a couple too, so theyre pretty good. I normally buy that big value pack and soak them in that powerbait formula and kill fish in the dalo's
