Carnivorous Deer

And no this isn't the deer eating bird video...

Over the course of the last month we have had an ongoing issue with the bones from a fawn carcass(2+ years old) showing up right in front of my camera.  With the constant malfunctioning of my camera as of late, I wasn't able to capture the culprit, until now....

Another fine example of why the deer herd is low. Poor coyotes being blamed. Grey wolves are starving and reduced to house cats for food. There can be only ONE!!!!....WF

Naw-- It's got to be the man made Global Warming. We need to do like the enviromentalists are doing with the polar bear and outlaw hunting them because they are running out of food. Go figure that one.

A blade of grass must have blown in on the west wind from ohio and landed on that bone.

I would believe that if this deer wasn't a repeat offender.  Last week she dragged a femur bone over to the same spot.  If it happens again, I am getting a leash for her

Would hate to see you get in trouble for hunting over BAIT...

Ours dissappeared in july, but we don't hunt our lick locations anyway. Have heard too may horror stories about guys being fined for not digging out the dirt or stump etc. Ours are just there to supplement for the antler growth period.

Did you ever consider answering that ad "Gain 2-4" in weeks!"? Kinda the same deal. Do you have a "size matters" decal on the F150?

In my never ending battle  to figure out what the heck happened to the Deer  on my place in upstate NY I put out two blocks in the backyard along the woods bout a hundred yards behind the house=also have 2 corn feeders there.
Last saw a deer there  last  week of Sept 2010. Prior to that - lotsa Deer day and night. This is in Richland Ny right near the Salmon River.
Corn- crows and coons-    Salt - untouched since it went out in late March.
A place with so much poop 4 years ago when I bought it you woulda thought you were in a Zoo  to have no poop, tracks or bait activity for a year is absolutley perplexing.
Never shot one there and am only around for a day or two every 2/3 weeks.
Startin ta wonder if the place has been 'sprayed'.  I mean they aint even eatin the drops under my apple trees- down the road--deer- not like before, but Deer.
Any of you guys ever hear of this and have you ever heard bout anything that would cause it?
I'm an experienced 64 year old Deer guy with lotsa multi state experience each year and I know it can get SLOW but this is nutso. I mean I still get my fair share elsewhere so its not like the end of the earth or anything- but somethins up and I gotta figure it out.

Actually that decal is on the headboard of my bed! I have shot more spikes than anyone I know. The last thing that matters to me in the woods is size, not that I don't enjoy shooting the big ones, but the little ones are just as fun.

Just ask yourself this..How many animals die every year and how many carcasses do you see? Animals are not dumb. They know where the marrow is as well as general uses for bones in digestion etc. Basic biological/physiological reaction in nature. but to catch it on camera, nicely done.

Hey Dar-- That Alt thing could get close- Ya see where Southern NY is going to minimum 3 on at least one side? Sound familiar?
As about the only ' outsider' here methinks it may fill up with NY guys soon.
Cant wait to hear the stories after the season down there.

OA-- Hear coupla neighbors have had them for lot longer that I'v had my place. Havent asked bout how their attendance record is lately. Heard one is still pretty solid though. Been keepin my 'issue' real quiet up there- just watin and listnin.
