Pymy question ?? (Linesville)

With the weather and water cooling down, I'd like to start fishing out of Linesville again.

How long after Labor Day do they take the docks out there?

Does the baihshop / boat rental stay open after Labor Day?

Crappies should start hitting again in September shouldn't they?

Any info would be welcome.

They don't start taking the docks out until the end of november.  As far as rentals and stuff like that, I don't know for sure, but I believe they still rent until sometime in november as well.

As far as fishing goes I won't be any help, its now hunting season, so I focus all my time on that.  I may get one day between now and ice season to fish.

The worst day hunting or fishing will always be better then the best day at school or work!

I remembered you asking last year too, chuckles. Wondered if you ever found out.
Well....after 6 phone calls to 4 different people I got an answer....sort of.

The public dock at Linesville is left in year round, so you're good until ice on.
The mooring dates, if you leave your boat there, are; open 4-1 close 10-31.
The boat rentals switch to weekends only starting 10-1 and continue until the marina head decides to close for the year - depending on weather & lake conditions this may be at the end of october or go into november.

So, there ya go. Hope this helpa
And a big thanks to Tom?, Fred, Jean & Pete for the assistance.

If it is crappies that you want just go under the causeway between the two pillars and use 1/8 or 1/16 oz. jig depending on the conditions and use minows or 1 to 1 1/2 in twister tails.  Give it about 10 seconds to sink and then reel/jig it back in really slow.  Sometimes you will have one on before you start bringing it in. The crappie should be there now.

But watch out for that tree!  I've donated more than my fair share of lures to that thing.

Thanks guys....The phone #'s and tips on the Crappies are helpful. I like fishing out of Linesville but just may have to give the causeway a try this weekend.

let us know how you do.  I'm thinking about making the drive up from Pittsburgh for the day on Sunday....although as a rule I try to avoid that place Labor Day weekend.
