Woodcock Weed Growth

Last time I was at woodcock (about 2 weeks ago) nearly all the weed beds suddenly disappeared. Was thinking of hitting the lake tomorrow, has anyone been on the lake recently? Have the weedbeds made a comeback?

Muskies. Might delay the trip, guess were looking at 20-25mph gusts tomorrow.

Ive spent alot of time on that lake this year, im just not sure why the weeds disappeared.

Woodcock is always like that, the weeds show up overnite and they leave overnite. The lake is down, way down. They have drained it prob 5 foot. there is like 30 feet of the the lake bed showing around the whole lake. I know they do a winter draw down but i cant remember it happening this early.

they draw woodcock down so low in the winter that it kills all the weeds. we were there in jan. a couple years ago and the only water in the lake was by the dam. i dont know if they still lower it that much but that cant be good for the weeds.

Out yesterday and the weeds are mostly stringy grass. Saw it 3 yaers ago while I saw a thicker weed in the lake last year. High water in the spring slowed down early weed growth?
