Yep -- Certainly a large storm but now its down to a Cat 1 and has hit land where they traditionally weaken tremendously- Yes- lotsa rain and the power will be out cause of the winds but in all likelyhood NOT as a hurricane but a tropical storm at best as it goes further North. What happened to the Cat 3 as it hit shore and only gonna get stronger from then on stuff from a day or two ago- 40 foot waves and weeks without power stuff- armageden for sure-The biggest storm in our lifetime -WOW-- AAAAAOOOOOWWWW wolf wolf wolf. I swear all the weather guys hold stock in toilet paper and bottled water companies.

Im in the path as well and not worried. I have my chinese food menu ready. Those chinese guys are always open and have delivered to me in blizzard wearing a t-shirt driving a corrola. One more thing this hurricane taught me, people love creamy peanut butter over chunky. Also during emergencies health food is the last option. All that was left at the store was healthy crap and chunky peanut butter. WTf

WTf A good survival tip for emergency situations is: health food can be made edible by smothering it in either cheese, chocolate, or bacon . Chunky peanut butter makes an excellent rat trap bait. Or can be given to the neighbor kid that busted your window last week.

Irene is now way north of my local.Lost power for a short time early morning but everything is on for now, more wind forecasted for the day.We have some flooding in the area and the major rivers,Lehigh and Delaware are yet to crest. I just looked at the Pooolaski weather and they are getting some rain now,ten day looks good as far as temps are concerned. There will be lots of fish in the river by the 17th. I'm going to spend the rest of the day going through the flys and tackle and watching the tv for up dates. How's everyone else making out?Dime you pumping out those footers?

Just passed my area jack... some power out and trees down... there are a lot of valleys by me so the rivers are swollen and there is some mass flooding going on... luckily im high and dry. My footings are under water but luckily they were hard and dry when I checked on them last evening... Now; I heard 8-10 foot breakers on the lake today and tomorrow .. im interested to see what all the upwelling will do to those schools of fish in 100 foot right now... time will tell...

The weather idiots have done it again- Ya know if anything bad ever really happens we wont believe them. Sad. All those State Governors who were more or less forced into drastic actions because of the overzealous reporting of this 'storm of a lifetime' should try and sue the folks who produced the panic with what is clearly a -once again- many times in our lifetime -crock of bovine field splatter. Fargin bastige iceholes cost me a trip up for August Kings.

hey rt; it was definitely overestimated, but i just took a stroll through town and i have folks by me who's houses are five feet under water... main county roads that are closed for 100's of yards due to bridges being submerged and just ponds all over... a supermarket right next to a river 1 town over from me has about 6 feet of water in the whole thing; cars under water; an apartment building near the river with atleast 200 people in it has close to 10' of water up against it.... hundreds of people are just wandering the streets with no where to go... sucks you opted to stay home though; there are enough kings and cohoes in the river right now to stand a fair chance of a hook up...

Hey guys back from the hurricane (tropical) Jam.. things went well with record #s and length fish caught. Great time and always EPIC !! So I see there was a bunch of fish that came in over the last 2 days.. does explain why me buddies didn’t catch swqat on the lake thurs, fri & sat.. The water was calm and they were marking fish like crazy just very few bitters.. Even the pic's of the many I seen caught on the other sites, the fish are pretty dark as expected.. well thanks Pete for putting that Beauty Bow up.. Saving grace for fish usa.. !! good job and yup I guess there is fish in aug .. seems I missed the whole diabolical debate "quotes' lol.. Really glad , I didn't miss much and not having the internet the last few days was GREAT !!.. well , I was able to "fish" .. used the noodle rod and caught pannies using a steelhead float, it was a blast !! Don't know if I'm anywhere near ready for a king yet.. Gonna hope for the best in the next few weeks.. I’d hate to have to cut the points off the hooks .. LOL !! enough for today.. Hope everyone weathered the storm well and gets their reels screaming soon.. Peace & Tuna

Understand all the flooding Dime- After that several inches a few weeks ago the ground was still too wet to take the rain and flooding happened. Didnt need a "storm of a lifetime" for that though - just more rain. Hey those barrier reefs are still there and they were supposed to be gone. Long Island didnt get cut in half and the place where the 40 footers were gonna be had waves-according to the weather reported standing there - of 3 to 6 feet. There were people walking the surf in the background. Saw one reporter holding up his little wind guage reporting gusts of up to 20 and 25 mph while he was clearly rocking back and forth on his feet giving the story- for some kinda affect I presume---IDIOT.

thats funny stuff RT with the reporter... my waters are still coming up though... two county roads closed...the train tracks a few hundred feet me from have up to 4 feet of still water over them for about a 1/2 mile long... i have power but 1000's around me are out of power for up to 1 week... the highest rainfall around me was 7-8 inches... our area broke the record this morning for the most rainfall in one month ever on books... i wish i had been fishing though... i may try to sneek a day if i'm lucky...

I finally walked outside late morning and took a look down my driveway,it's about 300' long, and there near the bottom a small tree fell down across it and the rest of the drive was covered with leaves, limbs, and walnuts. So I worked up a sweat cleaning all that up so we can get out of here. Then I look over at my pond and a large tree fell into it,that can wait! We're getting a light rain here but the wind is dying down and they are saying sun tomorrow.Went thru some flys and determined I need another fly box or two, guess I'll get that tomorrow. Can't wait for September!

Sorry guys Ive been gone, had my fiance's grandmother pass away so i been catering to her and she wont even let me think about fishing. Especially this morning when i checked my fly box and about passed out cause i need to do some serious tying. Anyways, glad everyone is alright, and if its bad i hope everyone gets back to normal real soon. I'm hopefully gonna get down to the river and reservoir see if its raised up a bit yet from the rain, in the last week i got about 3 inches of rain, and have been cooling down at night, yesterday at 5 i was down to 55 outside. We've all been talking about how we need rain, but i wouldnt want it this way especially you guys in NE and PA that got hit hard.

Wednick;; sorry to here about your loss... as you said before; family comes first man... For the upper res..... I loooked at a doppler radar that showed a completely dry halo that surrounded the redfield/reservoir area... just like randy said; hopefully they are filling the lower res for this weekends release... if they cancel this release for labor day im gonna be pretty ****ed... they could've knocked the water down to 100 cfs weeks ago... fingers are crossed

No doubt slayer... My wife's gram passed about 4 years ago- they were pretty close- she ran her errands, took her to get her hair done, etc.. Just passed the date of her passing- always tough for her. She was a nice old woman. Anyhow- hang in there & hopefully you'll be given some time darn quick. Loss sucks all around but the fish are coming soon.

I guess its hard to determine which would weigh out the other...
