Anyone catching anything bigger than 16 inches? Been out a few times at night at the causeway and can only manage average channel cats. I'm restricted to shore fishing so i'm wondering if the truly big ones are outta my reach.

Don't know too much about fishng the shore for cats but I do catch some really, really nice ones trolling. I have caught some in the 30 inch range with many in the 20+ inch range. They feel like a mack truck hit and are stubborn as all get out.

I was using stink bait, worms, and dead minnows. I've since changed my rig to circle hooks and am going to go big on bait like chubs, bluegill, and chunks of cut bait.

Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.
