Carp & Cats

Good success with average size commons, muds, and channels over the years. Tried the Mon a few times but mostly small lakes & ponds. Looking for something in the 20 pound range or even bigger. Any tips or suggestions? .. Baits, techniques, locations?

The moment of truth. Where all other things unconsciously melt away from our minds the instant a fish takes our fly. We stand there on the water with wide eyes, caught in a battle stance with an idea of confidence and hope

    I'll give you this-

1- 4"-6" chub, or bigger, cut trout also is good
2- Big rod and reel set-up with 30 Big Cat Line and hook and sinker to match
3- Allegheny River from Lock 2 to the Point, not everywhere, but you'll find spots- plenty of 20+ lb. cats on that stretch

Yep...also check the Carp and Cat Forum under the General Section.  There is a ton of useful information in there.

Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.
