7 Days.......
and counting. Waited, dreamed about, and saved 54 years for this. And now it's down to 7 days. What's it going to be like? Been slowly getting things together for both my son and I - now to get it all organized and packed. Seemed funny getting the fleece out......... Starting to loose sleep over it all. Last time I was this excited was when....... well I can't remember when. And those of you who know me know I can get pretty excited - but not like this.  Can't forget these......

Steely have fun on your alaska adventure. I sure hope you're gonna hit some rainbow water as they should be getting pretty hefty by now  tight lines

Thanks much for the well wishes. Very much appreciated. Next week at this time we'll be there - on the stream as from what I hear sunset occurs around 1030pm. Days start at 6:00am. Lots of fishing, shore lunches, and just enjoying the time with my son. Still cannot imagine what it will be like but we're ready to go - especially after working 22 hours straight this past wknd on a storm.
Pops told me when I was a young lad who thought he knew all there was to know about this world........ "Never, ever give up on your dreams. There will be times in your life when that's all ya got." He was so right......... and I never gave up on this.
He always dreamed of going there - alot of this is for him.

I'm sure you are chomping at the bit to head out! I know I would be  May it be all you hoped for and more!!! ... I'm sure you packed ten of everything, but hope your wife didn't let you pack that butterfly tie!  but... do pack extra batteries for camera... and one of those little 2x4 spiral memo notebook things, so you can jot down names, numbers, contact info and just thoughts through your day or at the end of it, and have them all in one place when you get home. Have a great time!

So we finally made it here. As I'm waiting for my son to wake up at the hotel, I thought I'd send a note as I watch the float planes take off. Flight in was amazing..clear skies...glaciers,snow,and just truly amazing scenery and mountains. Today some more touring and tomorrow we take a float plane to the Yenta River. Right now it's 6am, sun is just starting to rise and I'm sitting along Lake Hood watching the planes lleave for wherever... Can't wait to head in to the Yenta...... and the Alaskan beer is the best!!!!!!!!

Now I just gotta find a way to get back..Think I'll call my wife and tell her to sell it all and come north! Ya may want to spend a few weeks there in January or February before you do that!
