With all this rain we got last night and this am Chautauqua lake went up about 1/8 of an inch. Guess I'll go trolling and see if the high water pulled in some muskies to the weedlines.

Seriously, can't get excited about steelhead until we get a big high water event the end of sept. or early oct.

Glen was just kidding about having a driver's license in the 6th grade, actually it was the 8th grade.

I believe you when you say you've caught a few as early as aug. 13th. I've seen a few in the lower ends of the PA creeks and caught a few as early as the 25th of aug, mostly skippers,(jacks). If you really want to try them this early, try the lake at the creek mouths at dawn or first couple of holes above the lake after a significant rain. I'll wait to at least mid sept. and try them then only if we get some rain/high water in the creeks. Good luck!
