Two ohio river monsters in one weekend
hit the ohio last weekend to try my luck at some flatheads with a buddy.... friday night caught and released a real nice one probably around 30 pounds..... took saturday off of fishing and planned on taking the rest of the weekend off as well but sunday evening we decided we wanted to give it another go so after i got done eating at my in-laws we hit the road again arriving at the river around 1030 or so.... set out my bait on my rod and was jigging for some eyes or bass or whatever decided it was hungry when i hooked into a fish that started ripping line off my spool.... after a good fight on 8 lb test jigging a white grub i caught what i believe to be about a 40 pound flathead... will post pictures a little later

Dude! awesome catches. I think i know where that first pic is! This is my first year fishing for cats and I cant seem to catch anything large. Im jealous!

Here we go again.
Looks like moose22dog is needed to verify if these are really 30 and 40 pound fish. They looke like 20 pounders.
Maybe tull needs to enlarge these 2 fish to make them look like 30 and 40 pounders.

20 pounders? Are you out of your dam mind? I'm 6 foot 240 pounds those things are more than half my length and were fat if they were 20 pounds I could of lifted them over my head with one hand......... Yeah that wasn't happening..... Why don't you go eff yourself

really nice fish man. i wish i lived close enough to one of the 3 rivers to go after flatheads like that. i guess i'll have to stick with the channel though.

I'll give you 30-40lbs all day on those. My fat****cat(feline) is 20lbs, and he's not as big as your holding ha!

dam nice flats! this time last year we had already caught over 2000 lbs of flatties.this year has been the worst on record for us.so to pull two hogs in a weekend i tip my hat cause its been tuff this year for sure.

With all respect- In your first post you use phrases like "probably around 30 pounds" and "I believe to be 40". Not the most comprehensive proof of the weight.
So you apparently didn't use a scale?
Next time, maybe take a pic with the fish on a digital scale. Then no one should argue about the weight?
