I'll take the fifth on building permits I've taken out in good ole albion ny.... I do know that a lot of land has sold in the reservoir areas since niagra mohawk sold out 10 years or so. 1 exclusive developer/real estate firm bought most of it up from ni-mo. Since then some properties have exchanged hands a few times already. My land was actually nimo land beforehand....

Sorry to be the one to break it to ya Drakie but you're wayyyyy past couger bait age. The real ones gots their own monies and are lokkin for boytoys not how should I put this umm youngish studs. Puked a bit in my mouth thinkin up that last discriptive of you. So now in an attempt to hijack this thread. The surgery went well althougfh when my wife told me that when the cutter came out to tell her she mentioned that when they accually got inside they found it was a real mess (always the best waty to put a wife at ease and take all the bad thougts away). Recovery going well but won't be posting much since the combo of pain (I may just marry my pharmasist and real glad I lied to the PA about how many percs I had left) and this collar I get to wear 24-7 for the next 6 weeks make it hard to read or type. Just couldn'y pass up a shot across Drakes bow as M return to this craphole. Thanks for all rhe fgood thoughts everyone they really do help withy the keeping of a positive attitude. PS---the last touchy feely bohunk you will be reading from me.

Maybe don't need that--was told by a riverkeeper many moons ago that once the grass and trees stop taking water that 1/2" will fill the res---as dry as it's been----I expect that some of the trees will do this a lil early(at least the ones in the yard).

ORIGINAL: pafisher Holding water back to DETER building in a flood zone? Now that sounds like a local telling stories about something he does n't know much about.Ever hear of building permits,or don't they issue those things up in the north woods? Jack, I heard this in two different times from different people. It kinda made sense to me being that acres of land that was deemed preserved land by the power company was all sold off at once. I've never said this to be fact; im just seeing if there's any truth to it. But I will say Some people do what they want and do massive damage before they are caught/ if even caught.I saw it myself with a guy who bought along the salmon river. He wanted to build back in the flood zone. Luckily the dec shut down his logging operation before he did it. He was completely oblivious to the rivers capabilities to say the least. Does this meet your standard salmo???

Isn't the reservoir something like 4 ft.below average????? Maybe more????. I agree we don't need a hurricane; but im sure we need more than a half inch. Like I said earlier, im optimistically thinking a few inches can fall in the next 2 weeks with the forecasted storms coming up...

My area gets hit from time to time with resdiual hurricanes. Back in 99 we got 15 inches of rain from floyd. That really sucked.... the chance of a hurricane hitting the region can be pretty slim.on the other hand; in the past week or so the region has been surrounded by bands of lake effect thunder storms. Some dumping pretty hard. Within 2 weeks a few are bound to hit the region. Especially with the cooler air temps predicted. That cool air hitting that warm lake water should get some action stirred up. Fingers still crossed though

Screw you and your little pill dispenser. I believe in taking a handful of percs throwing them at my face. Whatever hits my mouth is the correct dosage. Maybe one of those slingshots for chumming carp might be the answer. I want in on the patent monies.

Short heavy downpour here blast night. Moderate rain all morning today. Looks a lot like a normal start of a turning to upstate fall. Every year people talking about how much rain there has been right up to my birthday (6/25) and then about the drought that is going to turn us into the Gobi. Then the rains come mid Aug and all is right with the world. 9 times out of 10 anyways.

Good spot DB - should be plenty of empty cans (at 5 cents a pop) that finally washed down after being piled up by the bridge-chuckers...

I rarely if ever use bait for slammins - only if the conditions at Oswego are right, the last couple of years have been a total crap shoot trying to match my schedule to the Big O. otherwise, I FLOSS the living CRAP out of mudsharks.
