Pymatuning in September

Hey Guys...Some of the men at our church planned a fishing trip at Pyme the week of September 19th-23rd.  I was wondering how many of you fish much that time of year, and if the Walleye are starting to pick up again by then.  Any info would be appreciated.

Other than spring , my favorite time of year for fishing ! Try casting the shoreline at night with minnow stickbaits , reeled slowly . Morning and evening with live bait also , slip bobbers or on the bottom with floating soft bodied jigs . These are my 2 favorite methods , don't ignore others .

Walleye start picking up as the water temps drop, mid sept it's still a little warm.  Just remember goose season will be going on, so keep aware of decoys and hunters along the shorelines.

jspencer.....Go back and read the posts on Pymi from last year and 2009. You'll be suprised what you can find out about Pymi.

I'll be there. Of course I'll be there. I have nothing else to do. I don't do nothing else but fish. As far as the goose hunters go, fish in the south end. I don't think they are allowed to hunt there. Most times no body is around me at that time of the year.

They can hunt the south end, it's just not as packed because of the lack of spots to hunt down there.  The north end has all the islands and a lot more shoreline to hunt.  My south end hunting this time of year consists of drift fishing with the gun in the boat with me...that way the birds don't feel "scared" because of me "fishing" plus I usually pick up some nice fish.  I either get fish or geese, sometimes both .
