fast at the crack........
Sunday morning was hot and heavy between 5:30 and 7:00 am. The first big girl cam before we put the dipsy rod in the holder. Then its hard work pickn at em in that bright sun light. Even 50 down in 70 f.o.w. that always seems to be the case. I may try to be set up out in the ditch real early this week. Thinkn 4:00 am. Any body feel the same?

Those fish get done feeding and then go down and stick their nose in the mud. It get tough at times. Just have to find those active fish. Earlier the better in my book.

Get your junk far away from the boat, dipseys are not the answer on flat sunny days

Ya motor noise will spooky them for sure. When it starts to lay down I run the terova and shut the kicker off. It's a nice break on the ears. Funny you say that, cause I didn't get any board fish in the pm all dipsys. I had a lot of board fish in the am, strange I know. Probably didn't have my inlines or jets at the right depth.

At least you have a crew...it's usually just me and my son "two-rods"...and he typically sleeps in the cuddy until 11am. We put together a nice crew on Sunday though...Me, Deetz, Slickfish, and my buddy Pat. Had a blast cracking jokes, but REALLY struggled with the 'eyes. Bait and big marks everywhere, but couldn't get many to commit. Must've been a full moon thing.

I don't do fishing on a schedule, I get there when I get there and quit when I quit. Limits of eyes aren't important to me, I like to have everyone on the boat catch one but other than that we catch what we catch. Most times I don't get on the water till 9:30, we miss the launch circus and still catch our share of feesh. Bogey, that was a fun crew you had for Sunday...

I think the moon and days prior weather had them slow and scattered last weekend. You really have to work to get 'em after about 9:30 a.m. this year thats for sure. I still feel the best is yet to come though. Finally, a good crew certainly makes for easier/better results. I'll be looking for some experienced Erie walleye fishermen after this weekend, so let me know.

King nuke sounds like your wackn em pretty good. I don't get upset if I don't punch multiple tickets but, it sure does make for a fun day. Its about having a good time too. The crew makes the trip for me. Sometimes I you gotta be careful who you throw together on a boat for 8 hours it can get touchy some times.

One day last year my cousin and I went and, I ask another electrician I work to come along. He did. We all meet at my house at 4 am. (Still dark out). I introduced my cousin to my working buddy. Off we went. After along day on the water my cousin realized that he got into a bar fight with my working buddy and my cousin chocked him out. My working buddy fished with him all day and never new it. Ha!
