  NICE ONE!

 Kev.,

The water table was extremely high this April. They usually net the Pike in a certain area ov the lake & they were spread out like crazy in that area this April. In 07 the water level was perfect & they caught a bunch in that one area.  I don't think they caught any any place else on the lake that yr.

Have a Nice Day

Speaking of pike, it will be interesting to see if they can figure out what killed the pike out there this past week.

A beautiful fish. Thanks for sharin, some guys frown on this activity. Sharin pics on an innerweb fishin forum is ridiculous. Now go poun your chest and scream from the top of that bridge in the background,

TOP OF THE WORLD! TOP OF THE  WORLD MOMS. I MADE IT!!!

Yeah Pens your argument makes perfect sense now. I bet I see 100 boats over there tom cause Musky had to share a pic! Sorry for all the sarcasm fellas.

Thanks again for sharing your pic with all of us, Musky. A real beauty. I love that lake and what swims and lurks within its boundaries.

Very cool fish.

I'm sure a boat or two will hit up that spot with musky lures, but oh well. Having landmarks like that in the background don't help if you are trying to be vague. If that isn't your personal favorite spot, then who cares? It's two less boats in some of my personal favorite spots!

lol....fish have tails and fins they do move around in the water..also maybe i may be just sly enough to have put that fish in the net and motored out in front of that landmark. its possible...or maybe im just proud of catchin my first 50 incher that ive been after for 5 yrs and really dont care if there is a landmark in the background, like i said fish move that fish could have been eatin bluegills in muddy creek 2 hrs earlier, theres no spot to burn, this is why i got away from this forum , its gotten away from what forums were meant to be, sad but true, alot of childish people on this forum, hey people will see where you fish time to time but are they the fisherman you are they still have to catch them, good fishermen dont worry about others they catch fish and pay attention and change when change is needed, i can care less if people know where i fish they still have to catch them.

Well, I sure didn't mean for the post to turn into a spot burn argument. I didn't and wouldn't ask for a specific spot. I was just trying to find some techniques that produce. Never made it out anyway, unfortunate death in the family. Maybe soon. Haven't had the boat out since April.

Would a 12ft john boat with trolling motor be too small for arthur?

Nice fish Musky!

I spent a few years on a kayak fishing the lake. There are canoes and kayaks all over the lake, so a 12' john is fine 90% of the time. Of course, keep an eye on the weather. I wouldn't want to be in 30+ mph winds in the middle of the lake with a warn down battery.

Anyone have any suggestions on spots to go to to catch a lot of bluegill, perch, crappies and large mouth bass. I will be taking kids out and want to keep them entertained. Haven't fished Lake Arthur in 20 years. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Crappie fishing was slow this weekend, and the fish were smaller than usual. The bass however, made up for it in size and in numbers, including a 14" Smallmouth that had a "V" of puncture wounds on its side. Gutsy guy made some Musky miss a meal!
