2nd Annual Perch/Walleye outing

Outing will be held Saturday, August 20th (weather permitting).

It will be up to the captains as to what species they target (Perch or Walleye or both?) and depending on the action, it will be up to the captains as to where they would like to launch. I know Conneaut has been smoking hot for us for both perch and walleye. Walnut seems to be good for perch, but the walleye seem to be thinner there. As we get closer, we will be able to gauge a little bit better on how the fishing is.

Once again this is open to anyone and everyone. We need the involvement of boat owners first and foremost to hold the event. Without these guys/girls, we would not be able to hold the event.

Just like last year, as we get enough participation, we can start assigning fisher-people to the boats. And also like last year, there will be a fuel and bait split on each boat accordingly. This is not a charter by any means, this is just a way to take the burden off the captains fuel and bait bill.

So let's start by having the boat owners and captains reply with their availability and how many people they can accomodate. Once we get a few boats, we can start having a sign up for passengers.

Also, just like last year, we will have a picnic afterwards and we will also clean the days catch.

Thanks in advance guys and girls!

Boats:
Bulldog - Deetz & DT (Wall of Nuts?)
Kingnuke - 300 Mag & Son(fishing out of Conny)
BloodyHand -Akita & Wife (Fishing out of East Ave.)
SUNF - Steely & Friend(fishing out of Conny)
Lovgren - PA Wolfman & Hendy(fishing out of Conny?)
Bogeyjoker - Beaverfishing & Outdoor Addict(fishing out of NE)

Picnic will be held at Pine Lane Campground in Lake City (aprox 2 miles west of Elk Creek Access on Rt.5). Let's say we all meet back there at 2 p.m. It will cost each person $3 to enter the campground, but that gives us access to the picnic shelter and the fish cleaning station. There is room to park some rigs and vehicles as well.

Let's get a food list going.
We need some drinks, chips, burgers, dogs & buns. BYOB

Kingnuke & I will cook fresh perch and walleye. We will provide all entails of that. I will also provide all utensils & paper products.

well let me get at the top of line and say heartily to any person willing to play host on a boat...

I am interested and would be very really grateful. As a proud dad, my daughter had the TIME of her life last year, and had a huge smile hoisting up her first walleye.

hopefully, we can share another great experience.

My boat will be available for 2 people 99% chance we will be launching out of Conneaut Ohio so an OH license would be required, trolling for eyes and maybe some jerking depending on weather bite etc. Also starting time will most likely be 0430 AM so someone local or staying the night before in Erie.

Doesn't seem like much support here especially from the captains, if we do not get a few more this event will not happen.

Just saw this for the first time....been fishing lately, imagine that...LOL

I'm certainly in to captain my vessel for the event and will be able to take two people on the SS "Croatian Sensation".

I'll most likely be launching from Conneaut as well, just a heads up.

I would be interested in going if possible especially if my son can get that day off.  I have an Ohio license also as someone mentioned launching out of Conneaut.

I would be glad to also help with the boat expenses.  Not sure if I could stick around for the after party as I have a 3.25 hour drive to get home.

There is 6 boats signed up... given about 3 guys per boat- thats 18 seats.

So far... we have only a few passengers that have posted. Perhaps we should query for passengers as well.

if more than 18 passengers reply.. than you're probably right. but what if within a reasonable amount of time you get less than 18 solid passengers.
that means that you COULD do this...

on the the other hand if you recall, last year we did talk about renting the edward john. that still is an option, espacially if there is quite a few interested passengers.

OR you could have some guys in boats (with the first 18) and others take the morning run on the edward John and still have the lunch, which was popular and nice-- to meet all the good people on fisherieland.

    in short there's options.

My brothers and I will be taking the long trip up to Erie with our families over the weekend of the 20th. We were not involved with last years event, but would be thrilled to join in. There would be 2, maybe 3 passengers. Since we do not have too many opportunities to make the trip, we would be happy to cover any expenses. More details would be appreciated. If nothing else, meeting everyone for the meal would be just as enjoyable!

Just throwing it out there, but last year there were 13 additional passengers and 8 boats

    Boats:
    Bulldog - # not sure
Kingnuke - 2 seats open (fishing out of Conny)
    BloodyHand - 2 seats open
SUNF - 2 seats open (fishing out of Conny)
Lovgren - 2 seats open (fishing out of Conny?)

    Passengers:
    Jolie and daughter (2)
    DaveF and son (2)
    beeverfishing
    pawolfman
    akitadog & friends (3)
    hendy
    steely & friends (3)

    as of 11:07pm on July 27, 2011

Any passengers that will be going out of conny with a captain, you can get a day license for $11
I'm not sure if you can buy the one day through this website https://www1.oh.wildlifelicense.com/index_hf.php or if it's easier to go through http://www.ohiodnr.com/wildlife/dow/regulations/vendor.aspx
Whatever the case, just giving you a heads up.

I can tell you that eyeassassin won't be bringing the boat up that weekend.  We're actually doing a charter boat up Erie for the whole weekend.

Are all the captains planning on fishing out of Conneaut?

I might be able to make the trip, if so I would have room for 2 passengers.

I have to check my schedule, I might have softball playoffs that weekend.

$985 reserves the EJ. That means 30 people (at the regular price) or more at least to reserve the boat.

    just sayin'

Maybe you should reserve yourself a spot on the EJ since you are pushing it so much.

Ok. Let's not start bringing old conflicts into this thread... its just not needed. Plain and simple, this was a great event last year and everyone had fun especially the people who don't get out on the lake often. For the most part, you arent going to be paying $32 a person. Bringing a few dozen nightcrawlers for eyes or buying the shiners for perching might be enough of a contribution depending on who you are with. Or even throwing money for some gas.

If you want to go on the Edward John, go... no one will stop you. The outing is more personal than the charter and you get the chance of going home with more than just perch.

Doing a Fisherie get together and getting to ride in peoples boats is MUCH cooler than renting the EJ. My daughter and I REALLY enjoyed last years event.

however, it is looking like it may not work... so THAT is or could be an option and was discussed last year. Many people did get a chance to chat during the lunch afterwards and no matter how few captains there are wouldn't that still be possible??

    ------------
as for the one fly incident. its not really relevant to the thread but its been mentioned a couple times, so let me publically say it. I was made aware of the incident after the fact and didn't realize I was a problem. When Indy told me of the problem I apologized and do regret that I caused a problem.

I'm not entirely sure why this is coming out now, but I suspect that its because I made a loud reply elsewhere. ?

If you've got personal issues with what I write you need to pm me, or report me or whatever. This IS the internet. What more can I really say? I'm tuned into this thread, so I'm interested in the outing happening...
