Steelhead??

Are they up to Route 5 yet? I have every color of powerbait and size 2 trebles ready

    actually they gotta to be out there somewhere. Does no one target them [in the big pond] this time of year.I'm kind of curious- why not?

    are they in canadian and NY waters or something??

    Yes, they are out there, generally shallower than the eyes and some do target them...

    We generally don't, and particularly don't when we have a spread out for walleye... the darned things run side to side and can tangle lines and create a real cluster in no time.
    They can be fun to catch, they just are a disaster to the line spread....

    saw a 6 pounder and a 12 pound 8 ounce (dead) one caught this past weekend... the twelve pounder is going on some guys wall, real nice fish

    Caught 34 steelhead at the stop-sign hole on 6/0 hooks, trout worms, and steel-leaders, and 3 oz sinker. The secret was 30 pound standard fluorocarbon. They must have out-chased the sturgeon!
