    They have 24 hours to clear main channel for commercial traffic and 48 hours to clear both sides for public travel.
    So by now they should be done.

    The structure comment was for entertainment only. Hope I didn't mislead and get anyone too excited. I didn't know when it was happening or probably would have gone to watch. As a kid we always thought the bridge was so cool because it made the car sway a bit and if you put your head out the window and looked down you could see the river. I was at work near walmart in BV when they imploded it and the roof shook.

    A few years ago, there was a story that the Army Corp of Engineers sent divers down to inspect the lock and dam just up river of that bridge. The divers went in, and then got right back out. The visibility was only about 18" and he got nose to nose with a channel cat. He said the mouth could have swallowed a basketball with no problems. He also said it was 8 feet long........Hmmm tall tale??? or was that a log I snagged???

    I think that area of the river is around 12-15ft deep. I've heard those stories about divers encountering river monsters for as long as I could remember. Same stories go for yough dam also. It wouldn't surprise me if there's some beasts in there.
