Cut out the lateral line on any size catfish, soak in O.J., broil with butter and lemon pepper 6 min. ,flip, butter and a handful of italian bread crumbs, 7 min. Heat up some Alfreado sauce and linguine and pour over broiled catfish. Add steamed broccoli and you may never release another channel cat again....WF

I dont know, people saying you would forget about walleye, just seems funny that you have to soak filets in OJ or something else cut out this and that, remove lateral lines, coat with butter then cover up with alfreado!!! I can eat walleye and perch just plain cooked in butter but sure sounds like alot of work to make a fish edible!!!!!! IMHO

remove lateral lines,

most people remove lateral lines from filets to begin with.  If you haven't tried it before give it a shot.  On another note I did have catfish from Pymatuning a few times and it was good like others are mentioning....channel cats that is.

Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.

channel cats from pymi are good to eat.  i dont like to keep the ones that are over about 22 inches.  15 to 19 is great.  give them some beer batter and fry them bad boys up

REMEMBER HOW MUCH FUN YOUR FIRST BIG ONE WAS. TAKE A KID FISHING

Me too!!! If you have to add a lot of stuff to cover it up the taste, I won't try it. But I do like this one. Your not covering up the flavor, you're adding it to  spice up a dish. Sounds good.

I've had catfish 2 ways. Breaded w spiced corn meal and fried. And baked w butter and some cajun seasoning. Delicious both times. Cut out the red meat lateral line first, it ain't hard to do.
