suckers.

I know none of you guys probably Target suckers but was wondering if you ever caught any incidentally. I found a spot that's got a bunch of em around a foot long and can't get em to bite. They look like amazing flathead bait and want a few for my livewell. I'm thinkin small flies will get em. I have a fly rod, but I'm pretty terrible w it so I'd probably go float/fly w my noodle rod. Any recommended patterns to try? I imagine any small nymph would work just wondering if ne one on here had experience w these guys.(loyalhanna creek) does it count as spot burning if your sucker fishing? I can edit if it is.

There are a bunch of them in the small steam I fish and I know they don't eat wooly buggers if that's any help to ya.

I'd bet they would eat a San Juan worm.

i heard you needed a permet to use a cast net in governed waters? that the case? cuz i got one and its the cats meow for gettin bait i only use it on privet land cuz thats what i heard just wondering?

You do need a permit to use cast nets, and they can only be used in certain bodies of water. Most of them are large lakes like Arthur or Raystown. They are not allowed to be used anywhere else. On private waters, I guess you are allowed to do whatever you want.

It is trout stocked, and you can't use a cast net there. I tried small pieces of crawler but they wouldn't eat em. Maybe smaller red worms will do the trick. They looked like they were eating/sucking stuff off the rocks and bottom that's why I was thinkin small flies.

small piece of worm, size 14 hook not much weight so you don't spook them is the only way

Will do guys thanks for all the tips. Someone else told me to wait til after a good rain. Does this make a big dif. With suckers? I just feel,like if it just rained and the creeks up I won't be able to see em.
