Oil Creek

Hit up Oil Creek for a lttle dry fly action today...

Many swimmers and bait dunkers the length of the creek.

Did manage 4 on top and another 3 on a bugger.
Something about casting dries to rising fish.

Couldn't keep the chubs off the fly....

    Gary,
The real action has been late evenings.
Lots of tiny 20 pmd's and 24 bwo's but also big 12 cream cahills and the bigger fish are finally showing up.
    Crowe beetle be working daytime.

I was one of those bait dunkers on Oil this past week.  I killed them all day on wax worms.  Anywhere I could find deep riffles the fish were in there in gangs.  I fished mostly the middle of the day but was able to catch about 15 fish in just over 4 hours.  Not bad for an 80 degree day in early July!

The bad part about using bait this time of year is the chubs absolutely attack it as soon as it hits the water.
