Lake Somerset road work

On the way back from fishing there today a construction company crew was getting signs ready to put up.  I slowed and asked him when the bridge would be closed and he said at 9 am tomorrow till August.  It's the bridge right past the spillway.  You'll need to come in from the North Center Avenue side unless your fishing right at the spillway.

I haven't been fishing it much after the crappie spawn ended.  I've only caught 2 legal ones but have talked to others who had some legal ones.  I've been catching more weeds dragging bottom bouncers this year than I did last year. especially on the west side of the lake.  Did talk to some fellows today who said they had a limit of decent size bluegills so I may wade the lake tomorrow and try for them.

I have noticed a lot less dead walleyes this year than other years but I'm not sure if that's good or bad.  They either held up after the spawn better or there less there than normal.  The water visibility this year does seem to be at least twice as good as it was last year to me but again I'm not sure how that affects the fishing.
