Speaking of Lake Arthur...
What is the best way to get to the west end marina(near the dam) from 79N?
When I look at satelite maps it appears I need to go east on 422 and make a u-turn somewhere. Is that correct?

I think you are talking about the McDaniel's launch by the dam. If so, that is probably the fastest way. You can get off at Slippery Rock and take West Park Rd, but likely take longer than statying on 79. There are some pretty narrow roads and hair pin turns, so if pulling a trailer might be a bit uncomfortable.

If you are talking about the Watts Bay or Davis Hollow Marinas, which are both on the North Shore a bit in the park, you'd be better off taking the Slippery Rock exit and the back roads. Same deal with some of the roads being narrow, but you'd be cutting a good bit of the 15 mph park speed limit road out of your drive.

You can also go West on 422, once you get off I79.  Take the Rte. 19 exit and turn left, heading south.  A mile or so there will be a road on your left, which will take you to West Park road.  Take a left here and you will head straight into the park.  Watch for the signs.  It sounds complicated, but it's actually quite simple.

    Good call Q.

If you are looking to stop for bait, this is definitely the way to go. It will take you right past O'Donnell's Bait on 19. The turn off of 19 to the park is right next to a big blue water tower.
