That sucks. Thanks for the heads up. Glade is usually a good lake to ice fish.

if they draw it down 10 feet, won't it pretty much be gone??  I don't remember finding much more than 10 feet of water there while ice fishing. Maybe my memory is wrong though. Seemed like most of the lake was less than 15 feet though.

It would be a shame for those that like to fish there. I used to fish it quite a bit for the early season trout, but have started fishing DHALO areas instead in March and early April.

Other than trout and catfish, I've never really heard of it being much good for anything else. I live 10 minutes from there and don't know anybody that fishes there for anything other than trout and cats. I know there are some bass in there and lots of stunted panfish. Anybody on here actually love fishing this place for anything other than trout and cats?

And at the very least, if the drawdown happens and the funds become available to fix the dam, it should help with the atrocious weed problem there.

I like to throw topwaters for bass here and there. But like you I'm more in it for the cats. There are some big boys in there.

Get used to losing reservoirs. These things were not built to last forever. Infrastructure all over the state and country is crumbling. Wait until Penn DOT has to start closing bridges!

I have my yak on there a lot because it's close. The channel is about 11 feet, with a pocket of water in front of the dam ranging from 14-18 feet. If it does go down 10 feet, it will be a puddle left in the middle. Every heron for 25 miles will be there.

It is a great lake for kids and ice fishing - for that I will miss it.

Doc - I have seen that map before and I am fairly certain it represents dams in dire need of repair.

Here is a list of high hazard dams compiled by the DEP - http://www.wgal.com/download/2008/0501/16115680.pdf

As the others said, it shows dams that need repairs. Yea, nothing wrong with "the lake" but according to PADEP the spill way needs 4.2 million in repairs. And as it sits, is currently unfunded. Maybe put out a collection jar in the store for fixing Kyle Lake? It is in danger of being drained just like the others.

Here is all of them and what they need to have done.

It's a shame that the PGC can suck millions out of the Growing Greener Fund for a new office to sit in while many of our lakes continue to get shut down due to lack of funds. Also think of the the money the Game Commission is making on turning the game lands into gas well heaven. Should be like most states were monies are combined as in many Fish and Game agencies and used for both fisheries and game management. Good question for our state reps.

I think they are getting like 17 million and 11 million of it is going to increasing something or other for pheasants....

Wouldn't you think that if the Fish Commission and Game Commission were combined that the monies would be used first to repair dams and improve waterways ? These small lakes alone bring millions in to the counties in which they are located.

I heard that Glade Run is the number 1 PFBC lake as far as usage in the state. Might make it a priority for funding if any shows up. New dam and a dredge would make it an awesome lake again.
