Meadow... are they "Wild"
I caught three Rainbows about 4" long in the upper reaches of Meadow Run last week. I have NEVER fished a stream that had a population of Rainbow's breeding in the wild, so I ask.... Could these be wild bows, or do they stock fingerlings in Meadow Run ? I never heard of them stocking fingerlings in Meadow.

I have caught a few bows like that and I thought they were native, but then someone told me that they swim up from the river. I know they stock fingerlings in the river but if your talking about the same area I caught them then I would think that thats a pretty far swim for 4 inch trout, plus the natural body slide seems to always have a good flow to it.

This was up there a good piece flyway. Past Beaver Creek. If you say that Beaver has some, then that's where they came from. Not as pretty as a native Brook.

Nbobich, not to get technical on you, but they won't be "native". Only a brook will be native. Browns/Bows could be "wild" though.

Although there are a few streambred rainbows through the private club property, most of the wild rainbows are below the club on land owned by the bruderhoff "society of Brothers" . Ask and maybe they'll let you fish. They may have drank the koolaid the other day, so dont be suprised if no one answers the door.

I know in the 70's the land that Hardy bought (Nemacolin), was owned by Rockefeller Corp. They had a stream that was stocked with breeders for private clients. I'm thinking that was Beaver Crk. So I guess Joe Hardy owns it now ?

I would afraid to knock of any of their doors.

Beaver Creek Trout Club. Amyone can fish there, for $$$$$ per day.

I checked out their website (BeaverCreek), no thanks. I'll stick to Meadow Run, where I can fish where and when I want for free, haha. I also checked out the SpringRidge Club. Makes you want to gag seeing all those pretty bazillionaires cheesing for a photo op holding a big dumb breeder.
