Are you gonna bring THAT in the BOAT?

That was the question Deetz asked me when we got this fish to the boat. It obviosly wasnt going to fit in the net....so we got the front end of it in....and the two of us hoisted it over....it's heavy...trust me.

I told Deetz as we were hualing the fish over the side that I felt like we were on "Swamp People"....Deetz immediately replied:

"SHOOOOOT IT! SHOOOOOT IT LIZABETH!!!!!!!!SHOOOOOOT IT!!!!!!

I was roarin'

This fish measured 56"...I didn't weigh it....and I foul hooked it....

A big point score for team snagr

That pic really does not do the fish justice as 1/4of the tail end was hitting the bottom of the boat.

Before I got a glimpse of the fish Slick said it was huge. When I finally saw it in the water for the first time I said "thats not a carp , that a tarpon!!!"

I guarantee that fish was near 70lbs.

I'll bet that was a scrambling around scene!!! What I'm wondering is if Slick changed his facial expression on the computer or if that's what the feesh really did to him!

Thanx duuds...it's the second biggest fish Ive ever "caught". And Deetz is right...there's at least 20" on the floor.

After what I went through to get it "to".... then "in" the boat....I was having a hard time controlling the fish for a good pic. The weight....I ain't gonna surmise......the 56" length....that I'm positive of. A true beast.

Thats exactly what the fish I caught last night looked like, and it was nearly as big. They are amazing. My only question is they have filters under their gills not the same plates I am familiar with therefore don't they only feed on small vertebra? I don't understand why it bit my bait unless it was just an annoyance to it

They actually are supposed to only eat vegetation. Not to say they won't eat anything else though. My friends from Texas fish for them since a lot of the lakes have them in there. From what a few friends said they go after a lot of the sugary type baits for some reason.
