Goldfish
I was fishing at a local pond, and noticed that it was filled with foot and a half long orange and/or brown goldfish. Asked about if, and the owner has no idea how they got there. Don't really care how either, but I'm woundering one would go about catching one. I always wanted to catched the koi out of my neighbor pond, so this may be my day. I tried floating trout powerbait, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

They are basically a carp so I imagine corn or dough-baits would work.

I've caught quite a few over grown goldfish in the Mon River on worms. I have a big Koi pond in my yard and I was messing around trying out a Berkley Gulp worm in there and the Koi absolutely attacked it. I also throw in random grubs and worms when I find them in the yard and the Koi eat them, so try worms, wax worms, or something similar. Any should work.

Allegheny River was loaded in the early to mid 70's. Sz. #8 - #6 bait holder hook cover whole hook with dough. No weight or as little as poss. Had a blast when the L/M were not active. crappy

You could freeline so bread to them. Just rip a small piece off the middle pinch around the hook and float it to them. They spook easier than a carp so this is probably one of the easier ways without gettin too technical.

I think they may spook easier 'coz of the attention they draw. There was one in Indain Lake 2 summers ago. I hooked into him(her) once but shook it loose so Eman wouldn't eat it. I walked around Indian Lake today and saw a koi.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The closer we adhere to the Holy Bible and the US Constitution (as it was written) the closer we get to the model that made America great. The great American experiment worked, human nature just got in the way.
