They can also be incredibly vibrant:

Or closer to a brown trout's coloration:

All them silvers look like they have rainbow mouths, all the purty ones look like brown mouths.  I think the original poster has an ugly rainbow/something cross.

Yes to them being that pale, no to the markings. I don't think it's a tiger either. I really don't know what it is! I've never been baffled by a fish! When I caught my first tiger I knew it immediately. I just don't see the spots of a brown trout. I see the worming of a on the back of a brook and the oval marks on the side of a rainbow. Not saying your wrong, just saying thats what I saw.

I really don't see any brown in that mutant.

This is a stock brown from the same stream/same day

You've never caught a stocked brown trout that was as pale as the one in your picture?

Also...every brown youve ever caught in a given stream always have similar coloration?

Your catch = fresh stocked brown, from what I can see in that pic. Nice fish, but not a tiger.

This is interesting. Maybe its just a brook? It defiantly has those parr marks, but faint.

ORIGINAL: fishink

I guess the feature that could cause some confusion would be the dark oval markings visible along the fish's lateral line. With a fish that size, it's likely that they may just be parr marks which appear on young trout.

Here are some prominent parr marks on a small brook trout.

Maybe it's a Brook/Brown/Rainbow three way hybrid?

Maybe it's just another mutant pellethead?

I reckon all brook/brown hybrids are not tigers.

I reckon the first picture is not a hybrid, but is actually a brown trout and presumably a wild one.

Looks like a brown. The gill plate looks like a browns. Who knows.

They all look like pike bait or pig feed to me.
