How much time do you have on the water? Do you have a vessel? There is a lot involved in gaining a license.

This is the place to go in SW PA

They will give you all the info you need and what you have to do beforehand as well.

Yup, Nuke hit it....thats the place you want...
Captain Bill is a Hell of a guy and great teacher....he helps everyone get through no matter what. Good program there and it is located in Beaver Falls, PA. Keep in mind, to charter PA waters, the 6 pack or USCG license is not a requirement although a good idea to attain. In PA, you pay the state for a guide's license, have to have proof of insurance and CPR training. Ohio requires the USCG license though. Good Luck.

A USCG license is absolutely required to charter in the Penna. waters of lake Erie. The Penna. guides license is an additional requirement to operate in Penna.

Spoons is right you need a 6pack to charter on any coast guard governed water. Took my course from Captain Bill great bunch of people. They will get you through it. Just the paper work not including course is a lot. Once you take the coure usually takes a few months to get you license. You also will need a TWIC card. Transportation Worker Indentifacation Card.

You guys could very well be right, this is just what I was told by a guide I know....I'd get the 6Pack, no matter what, to guide on the Great Lakes. Sorry to mis-lead.
