Anybody know what is going on with the West Newton Sportsman's club and if they are planning to stock fish this year?

neighbor and i hit the river saturday he has a jet so its nice to be able to get in a few extra spots.
we put in at Cedar Creek and anchored right below the smithton bridge in the rapids.
We killed them, started with a 16" brown pukin up minnows all over the boat. three casts later another brown---------- wait --------------its the same one i just caught lower tail fin half worn off and lower jaw sort od deformed.thats how we knew.

between us probably more than 18 bows and browns caught and released the ticket was spinners with gulp shad on them the small ones and just spinners retrieved SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Impressive.  Not sure how you guys can do so well with the water levels showing on the USGS chart.  Well I guess the boat helps, as you can fish the eddies.   Rough on the wading man.

I had one with an ATF tag the other day that I let go.  I assume it was from Angello's Trout Farm

Are they still doing tags with prizes if you have a button?  I thought they were only stocking trout and not doing the tags anymore? Could be it was just tagged Smithton or another club that washed down into West Newton.

Take the Smithton exit off of 70 and follow the signs to Smithton Hole (skyline or skyview dr. I believe) that you'll see in front of the truck stop.  Once at Smithton Hole, cross the RR tracks and park in the field.  Pick a path down to the river and you're under the bridge.

What I've been reading, this Saturday may be the last stocking PERIOD for West Newton unless they get a club network going.

Yeah this weather never seems to get better. It stinks, ive only fished a couple times this year. But just remember, we are complaining about not being able to fish as much, while others south of us have lost their homes or have significant damage because of far more severe weather.

"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

I'm 47, and honestly, I can't remember a year that the Yough was so consistently unwadable for such a long stretch.  Sure, there were always the short stretches where it would be blown out for days, even weeks at a time, but not this long of a period.

Well boys, we're all jonesing to fish. I'm down in obx right now and was really looking forward to a great week of fishing.. it sucks here too. Weeks of sw winds, rough dirty water that is really cold and full of grass has totally ruined any fishing down here as well.
Can't fish at home, can't fish on vacation........

Yeah, horrible.  I'm a big pole guy on a big pole kinda river (stream), and all that's been fishable for the most part, are the little mud puddle streams.  I know, I know, hit the native brook streams.   Just not my cup of tea.  I took every Friday off work for the past 1 1/2 month with the purpose of fishing, and it just can't be done.  Heard this weather pattern is SUPPOSED to last through June.  That's good news, eh ?

Yep, the Yough was ragin' and chocolate this AM in Coulter. Water was backed up all the way to the culvert by the gas station/trail on the Elizabeth side of the bridge.

It has dropped some and the color is much better, dare I say, fishable. But, it is definitely up at Sutersville.

Has anyone been up to the outflow recently? How does it look? Planning on heading over on Friday.

I was in Emporium this past weekend and Driftwood and First Fork were not fishable until Sunday. They were leaving a lot of water out at George B. Stevenson's dam. It was really moving fast, but was clearing up. We hit Medix and did well there.
