i am hoping the same for the allegheny.  it is still about 30,000 cu/ft/sec above average so hopefully a week or two and it will come down to fishable levels.

Went over the Allegheny on the T-pike on Sat. and it was flowing good.  Islands were partially submerged, the sunken barge was completely under water and even the backchannel was swirling with current.  Water color didn't look too horribly bad considering but it was tough to see from that high up.  It will be awhile for "good" water conditions even if we don't get anymore rain.

i went to the mouth of deer creek last night and threw some plugs and jigs.  Got nothing and the water is about 7ft higher than it usually is maybe more.  watched a couple guys in kayaks go out of the creek and into the river so they can go to the boat launch.  once they hit the river they looked like 3 torpeedos but they were ablt to catch the dock and get out.  still going to be awhile before we can get em

Unless you are comfortable paying a fine, I would advise against fishing in an approved trout water during the closed season.  Anything upstream of its mouth would be off limits until the trout opener.

Just a suggestion.....

The Allegheny is FINALLY starting to clear up.  It is still murky, but has some visibility now.

It is going to be dropping fast now that Kinzua is basically back to having full flood storage capacity.  River releases from the dam will be back to normal(even below normal for this time of year) by Friday.  I would bet that by Friday/Saturday the river will be at fishable levels for my tastes.

Here is the link to the forecasted dam releases -- http://wmw.lrp.usace.army.mil/current/forecast.html

i usually dont like to fish in anything above 32,000 cu/ft/sec out of natrona.  i fish lock 2 and anything above that covers the land that extends out.  but if it gets down to 36 i will put the chest waders on and go out cause i want to fish

I primarily use the gauge station at Natrona since it has been in operation longer than the Lock 3 gauge.  I really don't know how the Lock 3 gauge height correlates to river levels.

For the Lock 4 gauge, the maximum that I will get the boat in for is about 12.5' or roughly 20-22,000 cfs.  I will wade it when it gets down to about 13' or 30,000 cfs, depending on water clarity.

Eyeassassin and I just spent the day down at Lock 2. Not a single fish...or even a bite for that matter. Tried minnows, jibs, and even threw some lures at them.....and nothing. Anyone else have any luck this weekend?

I fished below lock 2 (Sharpsburg) Sunday from roughly 2 till 6pm, ... caught nothing. Spoke with about 8 others who had not caught anything either.
