The forcast is supposed to be in the 70s for friday, so the ice should be long gone.

One pike on a spinner bait and lost a deep diving musky lure on the Biggest turtle I ever seen,Well till he broke my rod off and taking my lure. I snagged turtle trolling banging the bottom. Other than that was nice to be on the water!!!!! Dave

Chris,
Was that you in the camo boat around lunchtime? We did a little crappie fishing, but didn't get anything. Mainly went out to try out my new fish finder. I got one of those fancy ones that timmy has.

It's official: Vineland girl's 58.29-pound striped bass is a world record By STEVEN LEMONGELLO and CAITLIN DINEEN Staff Writers pressofAtlanticCity.com | 0 comments

If you ever run into Juliana Merighi and she tells you she once caught a fish this big - believe her.
The 14-year-old from Vineland reeled in a 58.29-pound striped bass during last year's The Press of Atlantic City Fishing Contest that has now officially been certified as the junior female world record - shattering the old record of 47 pounds.
"I've been waiting so long to hear the news," Merighi said Thursday. "When I found out, I was very, very happy."
Official measurements were taken in October at Off The Hook Bait and Tackle at Hinch Marina in Cape May as part of an application for the record, but it took until this week for officials from the International Game Fish Association to certify Merighi's catch.
"It's a hell of a fish she caught," said IGFA World Record Coordinator Jack Vitek. "Especially for a young angler."
Merighi said that at first, it didn't seem like the fish she was fighting in Delaware Bay was any different from any other bass.
"It took about 10 minutes," she said. "It was tiring, but it wasn't that hard until the end. It was really hard to turn the reel around. I really didn't think it was any big deal until we went to weigh it in."
Once they did, the true measure of the monster became apparent - it was 54 inches long and had a girth of 32 inches. The striped bass is now mounted at Merighi's Savoy Inn, the family's restaurant in Buena Vista Township.
Prior to this week's announcement, the record holder was Rachel Faust, who caught a 47-pounder that was weighed in North Wildwood in May 2006.
"We never dreamed it would be a world-record striped bass," said Merighi's father, Tom Merighi. "I'm definitely proud and excited - and a little bit jealous, too. I've been fishing for 20 years and have yet to bring in one that big. Everyone wants to get into the 50-50 club: 50 pounds, 50 inches."
As for Juliana Merighi, who's been fishing since she was 5 years old?
"I just want to get back out there," she said.
