Thank you much! I'm guessing no real threat of it turning over until its in the mid 50s, unless we get some major wind.

68 degrees on Saturday. Catching was a bit slow, but did manage a 25" wiper on a Porktown Short Skirt (not to be confused with the Porktown Horny Alewife). The water was really stained & wind was rediculous, felt like early November... By the time we left, the wind died down a bit, and turned into a nice late Summer day. Probably should have slept in and fished later in the day...

Got out for a couple hours this evening. First chance to get out in a while. Got about 30 crappies, but only two big keepers. All on minnies and slip bobbers. Water temp was 68 degrees. Hoping the big ones show up soon before hunting season starts.

Believe it or not the water temp today was still 68. 71 in the shallows. We got some nice cats while fishing for pike. Saw lots of fish chasing minnows, but I'm wondering if most of them were catfish. Chris, will definately give you a call. The rest of the fall will be shooting squirrels with Jacob and hopefully fishing.

I snatched up a cabin cancellation this past weekend, and was blessed with incredible weather. I didn't fish as much as I would have liked (fishing 24/7 isn't possible anyway). When I did make it out, we marked a ton of fish deep, but not many taking any offerings. Was able to get a few fish, so not a total skunk. Right about sun rise, there were fish jumping everywhere for about 1/2 hour, all sorts of sizes. I wasn't able to get a good look at any, since it wasn't completely light out. I landed one of them, largemouth, but doubt they were all large mouth. Not much bait fish around that I could see. Wondering if they were just trying to enjoy the cooler surface temp from the night? Anyone happen to know what this could have been? Surface temps - 62 in AM rising to about 66 in PM on main lake. We were marking fish all the way down to the deepest spots 30+FOW, so assume the water has mixed.

Thanks Chris. Definitely not the same sound as the wiper spawn busting, but some were pretty good splashes. It was nuts for about 1/2 hour, then nothing... They weren't too interested in the arsenal of topwater lures that my Father in law and I were tossing. Kind of had me thinking they might be carp. We had the same thing happen one afternoon in the cove by the sailing base, but noticed they were carp after a while.

Hit the lake today. Trolled some Musky baits and fished with some shiners. No bites. Marked a ton of fish in deep water. Water was 61 degrees.Seen a few bass anglers working the shoreline with no success.Had to spend some time cleaning out the hole where the water pumps out. Mud daubers had it plugged again. Third time this year.

BB - I didn't get a temp, but fished with Crappiefisher on Tuesday evening. I dunked my hands in the water a few times, and seemed to be pretty similar to the air temp, likely right around 60. Not sure if that helps... We did pretty good on panfish, pretty shallow. We tried a few deeper spots without much success. Some hogs jumping around dusk, but didn't manage any of those. Crappy got a pretty nice large mouth, and both got a few smaller largemouth. Other than that, the panfish would be on fire for about 1/2 hour, then couldn't buy a bite for 1/2 hour.

Howdy All, New here, and to fishing in general - have to young boys, age 10 and 12. Also have a 18' fiberglass canoe with 1.5hp 2-cycle motor. If we were to head out in late October/early November, what's the best setup to catch fish - not looking for catching big things, just wanting to keep young boys interested - thing like blue gill are fine, but what I don't want is them to be too bored - We would likely be doing a Sunday afternoon kinda thing. Any suggestions appreciated - details such as hook sizes, bait type, etc., appreciated. Dave
