SNAKEHAEADS IN PA

I was wondering how many people have caught snakeheads here in PA ? Yes , they are here , have been since 2004 I believe and that comes from the PA Fish Commission . They have been located in the Philly area , but I don't know where else , if any . FYI : If you do catch one , they are supposed to be great tasting .

Supposedly, snakeheads are the best cure for Approved Trout Water.

They have shown usefulness in eradicating brown trout and other invasive nuisance species.

Great link Pork on ID'ing Snakeheads ! I started to write about that in opening this thread ,but it started to become lengthy so I aborted . Snakeheads make an interesting fish for the aquarium and were once popular , but they are illegal now although they can still be purchased . There are some 28 species of them ranging from around 10" full grown to 3'. Like other fish , they possess indeterminate growth which means they will continue to grow as long as they live and other factors like the size of their aquarium , availability of food , etc ... . It would be quite possible to have them exceed the normal 3' size . Thanks again Pork for an informative article !
