It would help a lot if you told us what type of water you were fishing wether it be a paylake, river or lake. If its a lake I would say there are cheaper more effective baits to use.

Paylake is what im looking for.Not worried about what the cost is if it catches fish.I fish them just to fish and not for the money cause i dont even get into those. Also there has been a few people who messaged me on a good bait so some people will give there recipes away.

I guess if enough people huck out enough screws the water up when it ferments. Don't know some duUD thinks that, after looking at the water in a paylake I think it shouldn't matter LOL

Could be also because some paylake stands can't sell a jar of soybean meal for $6 or more like they can with wheat germ?  But more than likely, it is because of paylake politics, as mentioned.
At least, it is good to see there is management that has kept an open mind at one W. PA paylake and hasn't banned beanmeal or corn for that matter as carp bait.

I think the reason for not permitting soybeans is that the paylaker's were getting to many tears in the water from crying over other people taking there money. As soon as you catch one at those lakes thy all start looking for a way to disqualify you.

Since it matters what body of water you are fishing to make your bait selection. Could someone make a sugestion for fishing the Ohio River? I fish near Brunot Island. I see there are a lot of different base flavors for the recipies, so any pointers would be appreciated.

I have never targeted carp before in the Ohio, but I always see them in the mornings near the boat docks. Only time I have fished for carp in the past was in the Juniata using corn with some success.

can of corn mixed with oatmeal. Use the juice off the corn.

same with a can of crushed pineapple.

add 2 raw eggs to both.

Take a four ft joint of pvc pipe drill a bunch of 3/8" holes in it. Glue a cap on one end put enough wait to sink. Take a screw on cap for the other end drill a hole in the cap and put an i bolt in the hole, tie the length of rope you need to the i bolt. Fill the tube with cat food, dog food or corn meal mush. Go to your honey hole and drop over the boat or dock tie it off and within an hour you will have em all around your honey hole!

"the girl in the pic is 6' 210lbs. and the fish is resting on her chest 38"

Hmmm, at 6' 210 you'd think it would be bigger

Seriously though, I've caught more carp on canned corn than anything else. We used to make a doughball using weaties and vanilla back in the day, we'd use the juice from the canned corn to get the consistency right...

Old Fred Trost show - he had an Englishman who used a slingshot to chum the area with corn and then fished with corn or doughballs, but later revealed that a favorite carpbait was a cashew nut!

Carp will often get bait shy after being caught on a particular scent. A change in flavor may help your odds of catching.
