elk creek.

Is there a boat launch there? Can a 16 ft be put in there?

    If the water level is right you can squeeze a 16 footer in there. Keep the motor up and you'll be fine. Problem is you will have one heck of a time finding the mouth of the creek when youre done.

    We have done it in a 19' boat. Be very careful!! There is a huge sandbar that extends out into the lake from the mouth. Trim your motor up and take it through the east side of the mouth when you are entering the lake. Also, make sure you are out in the lake a good bit before running, that sand bar protrudes out quite a ways into the lake.

    One more word of caution, if the lake decides to turn you will have a heck of a time getting back to the launch. It will be all too easy to get beached while entering the mouth.
