Stripers on the Hudson
Got out on Friday for the first time this year we fished the out going tide to the start of the incoming tide. herring were plentifull the water temp was 53 degs. Overcast with a northwest wind. I was able to do two drifts in front of the Castalton boat club got one hit and stole my bait. Anchored up right across from the club and managed a good run for about 10 minutes then lost it under the boat. Tried another drift but wind and change of tide held up steady so we anchored again on the west side and we had another short run and then [ I think it was my first on incoming tide] I had another run but a smaller fish and landed a 28" striper. Felt good for our first trip and I think we'll try again in the morning before the storms move in. Chief
