DSR

Have I missed the conversation about the DSR finally announcing it would be going C&R for all trout and salmon species starting this fall. WOW, thats pretty big news. Not really sure what it will mean. I would imagine that during salmon season 70-80% of anglers on the DSR are catch and kill guys. That will really put alot more pressure on public access. Maybe those C&R guys will then use the DSR considering the reduction in the overall number of fisherman. ????

Should be interesting to watch.

    Well I should know better than to write something based on word of mouth info. As it turns out DSR will make C&R for Trout and Atlantic Salmon only.

    So relax you can still fill your Pacific salmon qouta on the DSR... That only makes sense, the DSR is not going to put the operation in danger of collapsing depending on the mass of salmon fisherman to turn into C&R guys. In past years I have seen what guys drag out of their to take home and eat! Little chance of them changing.

    Sorry to alarm anyone.

    HC. Don't get your panties in a wad over the DSR on the Erie site. Over the years we have talked about Alaska, Chile, Florida,Cape Cod and more on this site. Not tho mention the morons who constantly name small out of state tribs. Beside that those New Yorkers have gotten pretty closed mouthed about anything going on over there {good for them}

    I told a guide out there that I was from Erie. He told me not to say that too loud because he took some people to Erie for steelhead and now they won't come back to fish SR.
