What first?

I'm heading up this weekend for my first trip of the year.  I only fished for steelys one time before but am hooked!  Last year I fished only minnows and egg sacks on that day.  It was Oct 31 last year.  Strarting alittle earlier this year hoping to get in a few more trips.  Just asking if you guys could point me in the right direction as to what to start with this year?  And no blue or purple power bait please.  I will give full report when I get back.  We are headed to elk.

minnows, egg sacks, skien, wax worms or maggots, single eggs, spoons, jigs, sucker spawn, wooly buggers. PATIENCE!! Any combination of those will land you some fish.

A live minnow fished about 4-6 feet below a small float will work.  If you're a fly tosser try buggers in black or dk red.  Soft hackle flies work well, about 16" under a glow bug fished with a vey small indicator.  As before Patience is the key.  The fish have been fished over A LOT and they can be very picky.

    - black minifoo like 16506 says is deadly tipped with 2 maggots
    - pink/chartruese/white (floating) power baits on carolina rig with about 15" leader (some have sparkle too for flash)
    - raw & cured steelhead or sucker roe works great (let it sit at room temperature for a bit before using.. works up some stank)
    - tied egg sacks are deadly
    - single and double eggs produce
    - half a crawler works well
    - live minnies work great (remember to bring an ice-bucket to keep em cold and lively)
    - spinners/flatfish/jigs/small crankbaits all produce
    - rapalas (ALL fish love rapala.... )

pretty much dang near everything you would think would, will.. except for big plugs and topwater spinnerbaits and live chickens

If you put a gun to my head and told me to catch a steelie in 15 minutes or else, the first 3 I would start with would be:
    - cured roe, eggsacks, live minnies, honorable mention to the minif00+grub (in that order)

fished with the following spinning configs:
    - carolina rig (egg sinker, bead, barrel swivel,+15"leader) with red-octohook or treble
    - non weighted float with splitshot about 3-6 inches under the float with red octohook or treble
    - shot'n'hook
