an idea...

Why don't we make a "conditions" sub forum of the main discussion page????
just like the tutorials on the tying page

that way questions can be asked and people know where to look for specific information

I think we need a fund raiser for a webcam on one of the creeks.  All the out of towners that don't know how to use the already available tools for updated conditions could pay for it.

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

...and they can create a few more jobs. 10 guys on each trib called "spotters'' that will accurately monitor, and record all upstream progress.

People who don't want to provide such information can not open the thread or close it when they see it is seeking information they don't care to give.  No special forum needed.  In any event, there is no doubt the complainers will check that special forum more often than the main one so they can register their objection to the question and to anyone who dares offer good advice.

No nothing like what I am doing.  What I am doing is responding to the idea proposed to have a separate forum for information requests.  As I noted, it shouldn't be necessary, and my reasons were stated in my post.

funny... i thought you were "register[ing] [your] objection to the question and to [someone] who dare[ed] to offer good advise"

would puting all similar information in one focused area be more effective than than speading it thinly through out a general one?
avoiding multiple questions on the same topic and the joking and off-topic conversation that usually follows

    question: where are the fish?

answer: they are up as far as Folly's
    ______________________________________

question: why don't we have a separate forum for questions of this nature?

answer: no separate forum necessary because people who aren't interested do not have to read or reply and if a separate forum is created, it wouldn't stop the whining.

registering an objection to the question: What is it, laziness or stupidity that causes people to request separate forums on every topic they find hard to deal with?  Do they want their mindless drivel to be spoonfed to them in a forum devoid of helpful angling information?  The great joy of finding the mindless drivel is to search through threads of useful information, just like I do.  Pay your dues and quit asking other people to do it for you.

I'm a outta towner and I even find this funny. All the usgs flow gages weather reports and doplar radar. People just want to ask someone for an excuse to make the trip up to fish. When my family fished in N.Y. lewiston, niagra, and the orchard. We always called the tackle shops and it was always the same lotta fish, big runs there in. Just to drive 4 plus hours and spend the next 2 days looking for fish. Learn a cheap lesson make some friends some u can trust watch the radar the rain gages and usgs data.

It all comes down to if you wanna fish then fish. If you do the leg work you'll find some steel some were you have to put a couple of more miles somedays but the fish are there.

Well said Paco...All a "conditions" page will do is give the "smart arses" more ammo and targets to pummel.....Its unecessary IMO....what we do need, however is stricter enforcement of the board rules!

Besides, there is already a reports and conditions area on the FishUSA homepage.

In response to the live web cams being made available.... there is some available now...  I too, am a so called "out-of-towner" ( 3 hrs away, guess that makes me eligible) and have been able to watch Elk rise all day long.  At one point, a person was fishing but gave up as waters came up.  Got to love the internet.... you can check levels with out calling or reading reports.  Cams are out there... just have to look them up.  Happy fish'in and Tight lines.

P.S.  I would give up the web site(s), but I'm sure I would get chastised.

How about a live feed from the Chartists mansion in Rocky River, OH so we can see his scantily clad servants walking around in French maid outfits?
