Conn. Perch 9-24 DID IT AGAIN
Well we did it again. Traveled NNE out of Conn, 8 mi to pack. Trolled around looking for a CONSTANT LINE OF PERCH. (We noticed that most of the boats that were sitting on 56' of water, the ones that weren't jerking every minute, just didn't have a major school of perch under them. A gob here, a gob there,,, big mistake.)
We went to the N.E. side of the pack, to 60' of water, and found the bottom 10' covered with perch!
NO SPREADERS-NO BEADS. Stacker rigs, We use #6 gold long-shank aberdeen hooks or Sabiki rigs tipped with CUT BAIT, emeralds or junk fish. The perch wanted blood and guts, so cut those minnies in half.
Use non-stretch line with leader,,,Fire line and a 1 oz. bottle sinker on the bottom.
Hit the bottom, tighten up and 'set the hook'!
Best day of the year. We're 6 for 6.
Caught over 200 perch in 2 1/2 hrs,,, and it's getting bigger and better each trip!
Hope we can get out again,,, Good Luck
