1987 Sylvan Offshore 90 HP O/B
Sold. Asking price reduced to $2,000. For Sale: 1987 Sylvan Offshore 18" 10". 90 HP Mercury (also 1987 model) Custom galvanized single-axle trailer. I purchased this boat used in 1991 and have used it exclusively on Erie and Ontario, mostly trolling for salmonids. Boat comes equipped with: - Eagle GPS
- Garmin Fish Finder
- Si-Tex VHF Radio/antenna
- 2 Walker electric downriggers
- 4 trolling rods, including Daiwa 47 LC Dipsey set-up; Penn 310; Daiwa 27 Sealine; and Shimano Triton reels; assorted rods...all in very good condition.
- Lots of trolling spoons, stick baits, dipseys, etc.
- More.
What's good:Â - a very nice hull in good condition - gives a comfortable smooth dry ride... includes canvas top and side curtains... nice useable cuddy
- Mercury outboard (3-cyl two-stroke) in very good condition - very reliable
What's not so good: - This boat is a project, due to extensive wood rot. The transom and floor from the cabin back are in need of replacement.
- Most plywood side panels are showing rot and must also be replaced
- The lights and instrumentation are in need of re-wiring.
So, this boat is not ready for the water at the moment. The fix is not especially high-tech or costly, but it's something that I don't have the time or inclination to do right now. Thus, I'm looking to pass this boat along to somebody who might fix it up and enjoy it for many more years. I hadn't thought about a trade, although I would like to get a couple of kayaks after I sell this boat. I'm not looking for another boat of this type.

Hello, The one picture with the jumble of wires, it shows the rotten wood. Is that the transom wood we are looking at? Also, any leaky rivets, and is the hull pretty much dent free? Thanks Ron

Yes,that's the transom plywood you're looking at. Another pic. with the center storage open shows the wavy floor and rotting wood. The hull is dent-free, no loose or leaky rivets that I'm aware of.

I love this boat, and have nothing but good memories of her. However, I need to do something, whether that's sell her for the 2K, donate her to a qualified charity for a net tax reduction of about 2k, or fix her myself. I made you an offer thru your email address, keep the downriggers and fishing gear and I'll take the boat. If I lived where there was a market for freshwater trolling gear I'd buy the package and sell the fishing gear myself. I'm near the salt, so trying to sell freashwater trolling gear is tough. I'm also 6 hours one way to your location.
