crooked creek spillway

Tried my luck at crooked creek spillway yesterday afternoon. Used various lures and dead shad below a slip foat. No success but ive caught a few small muskie and decent walleye this time of year. Anyone else do any good there in winter?

Me and my buddy used to skip school and fish down there caught one of the biggest walleyes in my life down there.  Saw my buddy pull out  a 40" muskey.  Used to be one of my favorite spots, but I havent been there in 10 years.  If you have the ability to walk down stream there are some nice stretches down below to check out.

The water had to be flowing pretty hard,  i live downstream rite on the creek a few miles and its as high as its been all year.  If they keep the gates open to drive down in it fishes all year round.  The fish never really leave the section of creek.  I plugged it thanksgiving day for an hour and saw nothing but a few small fish splashing around and some shad.  Minus anymore precip it will be high for another week and half or so.

Yeah Fish Whisperer I think alot of us ditched school to go fishin there! Ive done really well there over the years,on a variety of species. It seems to be a decent winter spot for muskie & walleye, depending on water temp. & conditions. Goodmans probally wont have minnows till feb or march so its off to Transues if u want live bait.
